Safety Coordinator (Spanish Required)

  • Location: Irwindale
  • Pay Rate: $17-$21/hr
  • Monday - Friday

Duties:

  • Carry out periodic inspections to ensure compliance with all company, local , state and federal safety standards
  • Investigate/ Review work related accidents and injuries;such data is to be compiled and placed in the personnel department's computer database.
  • Treats injured employees on first aid category type injuries.
  • Is the Industrial Clinic Liaison and coordinatess with Clinic regarding Injured Employees / Follow up, etc.
  • Reports and ensures that unsafe working conditions are corrected.
  • Make certain that all machinery meets appropriate safety regulations and standards.
  • Ensures that proper safety equipment is worn and procedures are followed.
  • Notifies management staff regarding safety violations.
  • Conducts regularly-scheduled safety training sessions for all employees to update them on the latest methods of keeping internal accidents and hazards to a minimal level.
  • Conducts New Hire Safety Orientation Training.
  • Conducts machine safety training on different types of machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts and assists in Safety and training meetings and projects.
  • Develops and /or updates existing machine training documentation.
  • Conducts monthly Safety Compliance Training (Injury & Illness Prevention Plan).
  • Manages the Machine Safety Inspections and Audits.
  • Develops Safety Standard Work documentation.
  • Manages Machine Safety Audit Inspections
  • Conducts Machine Safety Training.
  • Instructs, trains and certifies employees in the operation of industrial trucks,production machinery and safe work methods etc.
  • Is responsible for the day to day operation of our Safety Incentive Programs.
  • Occasionally will develop training programs for specific processes and or equipment.
  • Oversee and drive Safety Committee Meetings
  • Manage multiple projects to completion.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees and be bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Minimum High School Diploma. College is a Plus
  • Development of written safety and training programs
  • Development of audiovisual safety, machine and process training programs
  • Organizational Ability and Attention to Detail
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power-point) etc.
  • Ability to monitor a large group of employees.
